Miss Kitty is happy and so are we!

Find the kitty!

Meet little Miss Kitty aka Lotje Lemonhead.

She is now one week with us and having the time of her life. She is such a sweet baby and I have fallen deeply and madly in love with her. And even though Moos was truly upset with us for taking home a new furry family member, she is now starting to like her too. They have fun chasing each other and Moos is certainly not bored anymore. ;)This little bundle of energy is the best antidote for a depression!

I want to thank you all for the sweet and uplifting comments. I feel bad that I haven´t replied to you yet but somehow I couldn´t find the words. But know that I really appreciated all the kindness and wise words and that it helped me a lot. I do miss blogging and the interaction with the other bloggers but somehow I can´t bring myself to jump back into the game.
It is comforting to know that I´m not the only one struggling with life with a workaholic husband in a foreign country. And that loneliness and depression is something universal and that I´m not alone in that.
And though I´m not as happy as I want to be....I´m getting there. So I will be back soon I hope and in the meantime I will visit your blogs to catch up with all the things you have written.
A big ´thank you´ hug for all of you and have a great weekend,

Happy tears over a frog

Well .... I know that yesterday I wrote that I needed blog break but I just had to share something.
First let me thank you all for the lovely comments that I really really appreciated. Sometimes you need a kick up the butt, or a hug to comfort you. And though its virtual .... you do that for me. Thank you!

And so, why am I back today in blog land?
Early this morning the doorbell rang. The man at the door had a large box in his hands and asked me if it was my birthday. Uhhh .... no? He smiled suggestively and wished me a good day. I was not really awake yet and thought... Gee, he is happy so early in the morning. Only when I opened the box I understood his question and his laughter ..... I saw a big bunch of red roses with a matching vase.
But the best was the message that went with it .......
Mark did it again...surprising me while he is away!
So some tears were shed on a small green Froggy.

It says: It is always bad when your prince changes into a frog!!! But the frog does love you. Luv you most, Markus.
And the truth is.....I should have send him a card and a bunch of flowers. (Well, maybe not flowers)

The last 7 months have not been easy. Married to a man who is usually working more than 12 hours a day and is away most of the time having trips all over the world. The fact that I live in a foreign country with a few local friends doesn´t make it easier.
I miss having fun and long talks with the hubby but for the last months he has been on the phone all night. Usually I have no problems with it but that changes when I have PMS. Then the beast in me wakens up. Then I am or depressed of extremely moody. Or worse ... a combination of the two. As a man .....you can better get out of the house! It is not without reason that Mark renamed PMS into 'Pest aan Mark Syndrome´ (Hate Mark Syndrome). And that´s just what happened last week....the beast in me woke up and it made my and his life to hell. Poor Mark...but he still loves me....and that´s why I love that man so much!
I have the sweetest and funniest guy and I miss him!

Away for a while

This is where Mark was on his last trip, Santa Cruz

Beloofd!

I´m a real bad, bad blogger at the moment. I´m sorry! Just feel a bit depressed and not at all the happy girl I normally am. It may be the heatwave, PMS of the fact that I´m married to a workaholic who just left for another 2 weeks in America. He allready asked for a replacement hubby at work. :)

I think the best thing to do is to take a little blog break. I will miss you and I will be back.

Corner view "Staple Food" Potsdam-Berlin

So, here we go again with another Corner View post. This week it´s about staple food.
I should write about potatoes, bratwurst, rye-wheat bread and beer! But instead I choose to show you my favorite food at the moment.

It´s fruit and then especially the summerfruit. All sorts of berries and cherries.
In Holland that kind of fruit is so expensive that I almost never bought it. Here it is common to grow your own berries and people sell it in front of their house. Just a little table with their homegrown fruit and vegetables and sometimes flowers and homemade marmelade.

Early this morning I went to the farmers market to buy some fruit. It is located in front of the Nauener Tor (Nauener Gate) which was build in 1754.

This is what I eat during the day. In the morning with yoghurt and musli and as a snack during the rest of the day. I just can´t get enough of it.

Thank you for all the sweet comments on my last post. My father is 77 and this was his first trip abroad! He loved it! Just too bad I didn´t have a camera. But he promised to come back.

If you want to have a great trip around the world and watch the other Corner Views, look under Corner View in my sidebar! Be sure to visit Jane of Spain Daily, she´s the one who started this all!
