Bye bye.....going to have some Dutch fun.

Even weer een update....ik ben er nog! ;)
De afgelopen weken heb ik het bloggen even het bloggen gelaten.
Door een stafylokokken infectie heb ik een aantal jaren geleden problemen gekregen met de bloeddruk, zonder dat ik het wist. Blijkbaar was mijn hartspier aangetast door de infectie en werkt die niet meer zoals het moest. Dat veroorzaakte vorig jaar een mega hoge bloeddruk na een griepje.
Om een lang verhaal kort te maken. Ik heb medicijnen gekregen en moet die blijven slikken om te voorkomen dat ik in het geval van een ontsteking weer in zo´n situatie kom.
Maar aangezien ik eigenlijk gezond ben hebben die medicijnen ook een bijwerking blijkbaar.....een te lage bloeddruk
Vandaar mijn radiostilte deze week......ik was vreselijk moe want blijkbaar gaan je hersenen bij een te lage bloeddruk op slaapstand en word je dus een duf mutsje.
Ik ben eigenlijk een kortslaper...meestal niet meer dan 5 a 6 uur per nacht maar de afgelopen weken sliep ik zelfs ´s middags op de bank....tot groot plezier van de poezen. Tegen een warm mensenlijf slapen is toch gezelliger dan alleen in een mandje.
En nu voel ik me weer prima. De medicijnen zijn bijgesteld en ik kan er weer vrolijk tegenaan. De bank is weer het domein van de katten. :)

Mark zat weer de hele week in het buitenland en daarom maar de kinderen van mijn vrienden ´geleend´ voor een pyamafeestje. Lekker met zijn allen rondhangen op de banken.
Je voelt je toch op één of andere manier minder schuldig als er meer in een pyama rondlummelen de hele dag. ;)

Morgen vertrek ik naar Nederland. Mark reist dus veel en aangezien we 2 kattenbeesten in huis hebben kan ik dan niet even de koffer pakken. Ze moeten per slot van rekening eten en knuffels krijgen.
Maar nu is de man een week op het honk en kan ik eindelijk weer eens naar het vader- en moederland voor wat oerhollandse gezelligheid. Ik laat me weer eens lekker verwennen met de Hollandse kost en ga lekker op de bank tegen moeders aanleunen. Je kunt nog zo oud worden maar het blijft zalig om even kind te zijn als je bij je ouders bent. Mijn vader blijft tegen me zeggen dat ik een sjaal om moet doen of mijn jas dicht moet doen. ;)
Mijn vrienden heb ik ook al te lang niet gezien en ik verheug me al op het koffieleuten en het bijbabbelen. Want dat is ook zo heerlijk in Nederland....ik kan weer heerlijk kletsen zonder er bij na te hoeven denken of ik het wel in correct Duits of Engels zeg. ;)

Just a quick update.
I haven´t been feeling well the last weeks. I was tired and just slept a lot. I found out that the cause was an extreme low blood pressure.
I have had blood pressure problems since a nasty Staphylococcus infection that infected the heart muscle too. Last year it was sky high and now because of the medication to prevent blood pressure problems it had the counter effect of being too low.
But all is well now and I´m as happy as a bird. The couch belongs to the cats again.
Mark was last week abroad so I lend the kids from my friend to keep me company for a pyamaparty. Somehow it feels so much better not to be the only one walking around in a pyama the whole day! ;)

Tomorrow I leave for Holland to visit my parents and friends. I need a bit of Dutch ´cosiness´ I´m looking forward to have a good laugh with friends, homemade dinners with my parents and hugs from the little ones in the family. It has been too long ago and I really missed them.

And a tip for another blog to read while I´m gone. ;) Sandra in Canada...I read her blog in one go.

First thing that came to mind to show was this book that I found a few weeks ago at a fleamarket.
It´s from the 50´s and by Raymond Peynet. So sweet.
Love the plate. Now more plates are on my wishlist.

But when I told Mark about my idea he said....What? Not about me? It might have been a joke...but he deserves it to be my love topic today. ;)



So here he is....the love of my life.
The man who makes me always laugh when I´m in a bad mood.
The man who I know for more than 15 years and still gives me a big bear hug every day when he comes home.
The man who tells me every day how much he loves me.
The man who never gives me flowers...but when he does he does it well. ;)
The man who I miss every time he goes away.
The man who I still think is the most handsome man ever.
The man who reads every blog I write even when I write about ´girly´ things.
Yes...he is the man that I LOVE!

En of het leven mooi is!
Ik ben wel zo ongelooflijk happy vandaag. Ik had een label gewonnen bij Marjolein van Something White.
Ik vind haar blog één van de mooiste in blogland en was al helemaal in de wolken dat ik dat mooie label zou krijgen.
Maar wat stuurt ze...een heel pakket! En sentimenteel gebakje dat ik ben....daar krijg ik dan weer de waterlanders van in de ogen. Gelukkig ben ik altijd alleen als ik als een mutsenmoment heb. ;) Ik hou van bloggen!!!!
En niet alleen omdat ik nou dit prachtige kado heb gekregen maar omdat ik er echt blij van kan worden en omdat ik door het bloggen mensen heb leren kennen waar je een speciaal draadje mee hebt.

Yes...life is wonderful.
And I have to thank Marjolein of Something White for making ma vie belle! Marjolein had a giveaway on her blog. She made some beautiful labels and I won one.
Her blog is one of my favorites and I was already more than happy that I would get something I really like. She has a great taste and is one of the nicest persons in the blogosphere.
And this morning I got my giveaway. It blew me away. I expected one label but instead she send me this . And yes I cried again...the pathetic sob that I am. ;)
So lucky that no one was around.
I love love blogging!!! And not just because of this present but because it gives me so much joy and it is great to get to know people I feel connected with.

Corner view "Souvenir" Potsdam-Berlin

The East German pedestrian traffic light symbols, in German ´Ampelman´, are typical for Berlin. There a Ampelman shops where you can buy anything under the sun with the Ampelman logo.
Although I like my souvenirs to be vintage I find these bags rather nice.


Buddy Bears can be found throughout Berlin, usually on the sidewalks in front of their owner's business or office. The miniatures of these can be bought as souvenirs

As Kristina already wrote, there are lots of souvenirs to be bought in Berlin. You don´t have to look far to find a souvenir shop. I´m not a big fan of those. I like to buy something vintage to remind me of a city I´ve been to.
As the Berlin Zoo booklet, the vintage Berlin Bear and the Berlin Fernsehturm.
(The Fernsehturm (German for "television tower") is a television tower in the city centre of Berlin and is the fourth tallest freestanding structure in Europe with 368 meter.)


In our house most of the things have a story. And sometimes we play the guessing game.....do you remember where we bought this?


These two were a gift from Mark. Every weekend there is a art-fleamarket at the Museuminsel in Berlin and I fell in love with these. As a surprise he bought them for me.
So for me the best souvenirs are always the memories that come with them.
