I´m going ´home´ for a week to spend some time with my family and friends. To get pampered and spoiled by my parents and to have fun with old friends.
So boys and girls..behave and don´t talk to strangers! ;)
Enjoy the weekend and for the lucky ones..the sun.
See you soon,

Little Miss Trouble aka Moos
Some of you asked me yesterday what I am making here.
Some of you asked me yesterday what I am making here.
Yup. Kan het me wat schelen? Nope. :D
I am seriously addicted to the noble art of crochet... and will take it along on my bike rides . And so, sitting at a cafe or at the waterfront on a bench, I like to pretend that I'm home. I have my coffee latte and take out my crochet. Are strangers looking at me like I´m someone of outer space? Yup. Do I care? Nope. : D
I wanted to show the blankie and well.....to have a cat around is not making that an easy task. I just wanted a quick picture of my artwork, but that became almost a slapstick. I put the blanket on the bed....next second Moos was on it, messing around....lifting her off the bed..... trying to have it nice again .. turning around to get camera.... Moos having fun on the bed ... And all that about 3 or 4 times. I just gave up and here she is...in the picture....Little Miss Moos!
She never sleeps on the daybed but yesterday she spend the whole day on it.
Well .... apparently she made it her blanket! ;)
Moos just recognizes beauty when she sees it ...... we are still in doubt. Especially the male part! ;)
Now leave me alone or I will do some serious damage to you and your camera!
P.S. Just double-click on the photo´s to enlarge. I wish I knew how to get them larger on the blog!

Corner view on Coffee in Potsdam-Berlin
This is another posting for *Corner View*, a super idea from Jane of Spain Daily. The group that participates show their little (or not so little) corner of the world. And wow, there have been moments viewing their pictures that I wanted to pack my things and move right away to their corner.
I need my coffee daily and on some days more than others. And today was such a day!
I woke up at 4.30 this morning to say bye bye to Mark, who left for England. He probably wished I had stayed in bed....I´m very grumpy the first hour that I´m awake! ;) So I had my first coffee very early.
Later in the morning I had to go to the dentist. I need to have a dental bridge which will cost about 1000 Euro! That really woke me up when she gave me the bill! I hope Mark still loves me after this morning ....he has to pay it! I´d rather had him pay it on something I could actually see. ;)

Being without a husband and without a friend at hand for some company I took my bike to have a trip along the lake.
This is where I came from.......
on my way......
to have some of these!
And yes Carmie....with a straw. ;) Not because of my trip to the dentist....but this is what you get there instead of a spoon. Must be a beachbar thingy. When I came home the hubby called that he was not coming home tomorrow, he had to work in Dublin on Thursday. Grrrr....but no...be nice....he has to pay for your teeth!
So I went to my friend to get things in perspective (her husband is in New York for weeks now)and had some coffee at her place. The world looks so much better with some coffee, feet up, us both complaining about the whereabouts of the men in our lives and my fav dog at my side. ;)

So to make a very long story short......that´s my daily coffee!
PS. I got 2 awards today!! One from Flos and one from Pien. I feel so blessed that they gave these to me. As I have said before I feel really sometimes that I am a lousy blogger. I make bad pictures..I don´t even know how my camera works. Just how to click on it and oh.....how to turn of the flash. That´s so sad...if only I would take the time to read the manual, but as usual, I´m too lazy. So the truth is that I take millions of photo´s and only one or two survive the selection. ;)
So with 3 awards in one week....I feel on top of the world. And it was just what I needed today. You make me laugh, sometimes move me to tears and often give me something to think about. I can be silly with you, travel around the world and admire all the beauty that you put out on your blogs.
So to all who reads this......I forward these awards to all of you! I really have trouble to pick out just a few...you are a special to me for various reasons.

A coffee picture special to me...Mark made this one last Saturday. I saw him taking my coffee (he has never had a sip of coffee in his entire life) and I asked him what he was doing....Making a picture for your Corner View.
That´s why I luv him.....!

Apothecary jars.....
It´s already late and I really really should go to bed. In 4 hours Mark is leaving for London and I promised to get up to have a cup of tea with him.
I will probably fall asleep at the dentist....always better than a anesthetic! ;)
Here are some pictures of the apothecary jars I bought. I use them for flowers, to store my buttons, the little soap bars Mark takes home from his trips(again something I don´t use, I´m allergic to soap(!), but the room smells really good) and for everything else I can think of. So....there will always be place for more.
Have a great day,
We went to Venice!
Mark wants a boat. In Haarlem, we had a little boat and it was always great to be on it when the weather was nice.
With all the lakes and rivers around the Potsdam, he wants to have one to again.
So Saturday afternoon we went on the road to have a look at a boat. En route we came along a junk store. Junk heaven....so much to see!. Fortunately, Mark took some photos ..... I had better things to do. ;)
I could have spend hours there and I certainly will do sometime. I found an old apothecary bottle. Again as with the buttons .... I have to buy them! But the difference is that I use these!
O yes..the boat...the boat store was closed .... we were too late. But since we always like to drive around and discover new things, we decided to explore the surroundings.
We went to Neu-Venedig (New Venice). It got its name because of......well... the canals.
We have to go back sometime to see more of it!
We had some fish at the waterfront, it was a little stall that sold all kinds of smoked fish.
So no, we didn´t really go to Venice, but this trip was fun too.
It felt like we were on a holiday and that at an hour distance from home. So different from Potsdam.
On our way back home we drove along the Müggelsee, the largest lake in Berlin. It is very popular as a holiday home area. We have already spotted a house that we want. Complete rundown and by the looks of it already uninhabited for some year. But it has a garden at the waterfront and it is just the kind of house that we like. It´s one of the things we both like: to see a house and dreaming of buying it. It never happens but we like to dream.
I saw myself decorating the whole house and garden and Mark dreamed of having a boat next to our house. ;)

Oh, the joy of hunting!
Before you me delete me from your list of friendly bloggers...... I mean the hunt for things and certainly not animals.
I can´t even kill a spider. If it was for me they could all stay in our house, they like mosquitoes (and I really do not!). But Mark has a spider phobia and as soon as he discoveres one, the end of life as a loved pet is in sight. They have to find themselves a new home.
I recently bought this green wooden box. It continues to intrigue me why Rettung (Rescue/Salvation) 1924 is engraved on top. What's happened then? On the front it says La Pay6 or La Pays. Was he saved in France or was he perhaps a sailor on La Pay6? I love the fact that it was handmade.
We both have a thing for vintage architectural souvenirs of cities we visited. I once bought the Eifel Tower as a reminder of all the times we went to Paris and now Mark bought the Fernsehturm (Televisiontower) of Berlin.
There were some questions about the green cabinet.... what is in it?.
So, there you have the answer .... old buttons. I can not walk past old buttons, I have to buy them, I do not even know what to do with it! How bad is that? But usually I buy those buttons because of the mother of pearl ones that sits between them. The love of the sea sometimes takes strange forms. I can not explain it otherwise. ;)
Have a great weekend and happy hunting!

The Happy Housewife
The sun is shining, I had coffee with a friend in the garden ... that are all things which makes me happy.
What normally doesn´t make me happy is going to the supermarket. It is a necessary evil. But today is an exception.
I had to go to a supermarket where I usually never go to and between the toilet rolls and cat food I found these tea towels for almost nothing. Look ...... thats something to makes me a very happy housewife.;)
And ...... they also had large tablecloths. I´m gonna use it as a bedsheet. It goes perfectly with my new quilt from Brittany.
So should any supermarket owners from Potsdam read this..........if you would be so kind to put more of this sort of things on the shelfs...... I will leave with a smile (and broke) your supermarket!

Corner view on The great outdoors in Potsdam-Berlin
Pfaueninsel
This is another posting for *Corner View*, a super idea from Jane of Spain Daily. The group that participates show their little (or not so little) corner of the world. And wow, there have been moments viewing their pictures that I wanted to pack my things and move right away to their corner.
Well, Potsdam has a lot to offer in you want to enjoy the great outdoors. There are woods for long walks, the river Havel for all kind of watersports. And hundreds of lakes to visit.
Last Sunday, when we had some coffee at the Strandbar, a watertaxi stopped just in front of us. Mark had the great idea to go for a tour. We boarded and spend more than 3 hours on the water. The watercab stops at some historic places around Potsdam. The weather was gorgeous, lots of sun and Mark was looking red as a boiled lobster at the end of the day. ;)
It is amazing how a everything looks different from the water.
Potsdam has some castles. The best known is the Sans Soucis but this is one is the Babelsberger Schloss.
The Glienicke Brücke - The world famous "Spy-Exchange-Bridge" during cold war times.
But my favorite outdoor trip must have been to the Pfaueninsel (Peacock Island). You can only get there by ferry and you are indeed welcomed by peacocks. It is on the Unesco World Heritage list as many building and parks in Potsdam.
There is a beautiful little castle, build by one the Preusian Kings for his true love. And no.....that was not his wife! He didn´t enjoy it long because 3 years after it was build he died in 1799.
It had to resemble an Italian ruin. To us it looked like part of a filmset.
We had a long walk around the island. There were almost no visitors and that made it extra special. It felt as we had the island for ourselves.
I had a long talk with some parrots who are living in the middle of the island and got company from the island cat. He walked for more than an hour with us. I just love the cats here, they have a thing for keeping me company.
Wishing you all a beautiful Corner View day!
